Martinborough and it's attractions:

Although known best for its wines, particularly Pinot Noir - there is much more to Martinborough than that.

It provides a great base for trips to stunning scenic areas like Cape Palliser with its lighthouse and seals; The Pinnacles, an outstanding geographic feature; Castlepoint, with its rugged coastline and horse races on the beach (sand and weather permitting).

There are more active adventures - quadbiking, horseriding, and jetboating, as well as more meditative pursuits like flyfishing and the local glow worm caves.

Of course there is wine tasting, some of the wineries have restaurant facilities or nibbles available.

Only 1 hour 15 from Wellington, 2 hours from Palmerston North and 3 hours from Hawkes Bay, Martinborough is a great place to visit.
